Cape Woolamai, The Pinnacles

An early start and warm morning greeted us as we arrived at the Woolamai surf beach car park to head out for first light on a clear warm dawn. Ideally some dramatic storm clouds would have been perfect, but welcome to photography and the art of patience…the right spot at the right time. Just means I’ll be back!

Film is not dead…!

During recent weeks I have had the chance to dig out the not so old x-pan film camera and run a couple of rolls through. I quite enjoy the process as I am made to think about my photography more than usual…rather than blasting a bracket of digital images, using film has enabled me to hone my techniques which can then be applied to what I do digitally.

Below there are a series of exposures made with my Hasselblad x-pan camera, a 35mm camera with panoramic capabilities. I love the tonal range I can obtain from these lenses.

This Image was obtained using fuji velvia 100, f. 22,  1 sec with a .9(3stop) hard grad nd filter. Ideally, a longer exposure to further blur the water may have added to the mood!
